RailPower's first US-built Green Goat® was on its way Friday, April 29, 2005, to its final destination at a BASF's chemical plant in Freeport, Texas.

Spring Ridge Rail was the assembler at Railserve's facilities in Longview, east Texas.

Also of major significance was that it was the first RailPower hybrid yard locomotive to be built from a kit and the first to be built in Texas.

The locomotive was funded by a clean air grant under Railserve's application to the Texas Emissions Reduction Program (TERP) last year.
